Justine Dorhout
After 30 years of treating people with severe mental health issues and also issues that most of us overlook, ignore or rationalize , I see myself and my approach as realistic and practical. And aware, yet optimistic.
After University, I began to study the mind and the psyche to see what does work in the end, since focussing on trauma and treating people with health issues in the traditional way did not seem to offer the result most treatments were aiming for, in my perspective.
15 years ago I did a post-graduate study based upon a fusion between the western tradition of psychoanalysis and eastern understanding of the mind and soul. This study was a result of my search for a bridge between the empirical paradigm and the holistic paradigm.
Successful approach
These studies, combined with extended mindfulness and meditation practices resulted in a practical, uplifting and successful approach.
